Yelp East Bay Meets Barcelona

Posted by Monica

On Tuesday, amid a brisk and starlit Old Oakland night, over 120 elites descended upon the cobblestone respite, Liege Spirits Lounge, to celebrate Yelp's Barcelona Night.

Falling into a Flameno-inspired trance with live music performed by the East Bay Spanish and Flamenco guitar duo, Daniel Fríes and Trio Paz, guests treated their taste buds to Spanish inspired cocktails like El Lago, a Manhattan styled cocktail featuring Novo Fogo cachaça. Others opted for the ginger daiquiri, a well-balanced zippy libation incorporating freshly muddled ginger and Novo Fogo's blanco cachaça. For those craving something rouge, Emeryville's own, Periscope Cellars, offered party-goers glasses of their famed Mash Up, a courageous (albiet delicious) blend of 10 varietals!

In between sips and charcuterie and cheese bites, guests feasted their eyes on Flamenco flame, Melissa Cruz, as she took the stage and stunned the audience with a dress-twisting-foot-stompting-hand-clapping passionate performance. To keep her pounding in rhythem, Kathy Mejia offered her gypsy vocals in the background. Wanna scope out more photos?
