Downcity @ 50 Weybosset certainly is a soldier of the restaurant biz: first, rising from the ashes of a crippling fire at their original location to, most recently, making it through the ringer of Chef Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares!
The episode, which aired on March 11th, got a little heated. "You precious, stuck-up little #@$!" accused Ramsey. "Get the $@*#out of my restaurant!" owner Abby Cabral fired back. Check out all the oh-so-passionate exchanges here!
Luckily, after a rocky start, Downcity and Ramsey found their happy place. The owners, staff, and patrons alike love the new menu. We thought that we would put it to a TRUE test: have PVD Yelp Elites weigh in on things!
Yelpers and their guests came out strong to celebrate Downcity's triumphs, mingle with fellow Elites, enjoy a few cocktails and sample all-new appetizer menu co-created with Chef Gordon Ramsey! Samplings included Goat Cheese Truffle Dip, Meatball Sliders, Pork Belly Lettuce Cups, and Beet Cured Salmon.
Yelpers truly enjoyed their experience at Downcity and are excited to return to try the full menu! As this was my last official Elite Event as PVD CM, I also just wanted to take a second to shout out how incredibly open, kind, fun, and welcoming the small (but mighty!) PVD Elite Squad is. I am humbled!
