Yelp's Ultimate Science Fair Hits Phoenix
On Thursday, March 3, yelp conducted the largest science experiment to-date in Phoenix as 1,100 yelpers gathered at the Arizona Science Center for Yelp's Ultimate Science Fair. From live combustion demos, to food, drinks and photobooths, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see why this night was the perfect formula to celebrate the growing yelp community!
The lucky yelpers who made the list were greeted with a welcome hot dog from Short Leash Dogs. Just inside, Tom Mein serenaded the crowd with his live guitar performance while yelpers walked down the ramp into the newly renovated Arizona Science Center lobby and entered the world of yelp discovery with an Ultimate Science Fair.
During the party, yelpers browsed over 16 food vendors and fueled their systems with savory and sweet treats from 5th and Wine, Big Earl's BBQ, Brio Tuscan Grille, Bubba's Popcorn, Butter and Me Cupcakes, Chaka Chaka, Hole-in-the-Wall Smokehouse BBQ, Lee's Cream Liqueur, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Petite Maison, PopChips, Rico's American Grill, Roka Akor, Salvadoreno Restaurant, Sunshine Moon Peking Pub and Wildflower Bread Company.
PourMaster's mixologists pushed the boundaries of cocktail concoctions with PBR and Tito's Vodka, while Cruz Tequila got experimental with their liquids. Those interested in learning the tricks to the bubbles visited the Science of Champagne Lounge presented by Narcisse complete with music, bubbles, food and a VIP treatment. We can't forget our brewstatic friends at Rock Bottom who explained the science of the wheat behind the brewski in their Science of Beer Lounge all while DJ Sterling wowed the crowd with cool jams.
On the first level, DJ Hart Break kept the crowd entertained with background music on the main stage while yelpers hung out and relaxed thanks to the trendy touch of lounge furniture and table tops provided by Kool. This was a night not to be forgotten, so luckily yelpers made lasting memories by creating their own photo book from FlipBook and had photobooth fun with SnapBooth. In anticipation of the upcoming 2nd Annual Arizona Barbecue Festival, the fine folks at EaterAZ played the very popular Pass the Pigs with yelpers and awarded prizes involving our friend, Mr. Jack Daniels.
With bellies full and thirst quenched, yelpers enjoyed the various activities offered by the Arizona Science Center including complimentary Planetarium shows, discounted tickets to see the traveling BodyWorlds, exhibits like Get Charged Up and My Digital World and learned about the power of the brain in the brand new W.O.N.D.E.R Center. So many experiments, activities, entertainment, eating, drinking and excitement can tire a yelper out, but luckily 5-Hour Energy and RockStar were on hand to charge the anatomy's battery with a swift jolt.
Yelp's Ultimate Science Fair at the Arizona Science Center created a night full of electrical sparks and you can be blinded by science yet again. Revisit the night by reading the reviews, checking out the photos from Esoterik Images, Owen Murray Photography and SnapBooth Entertainment and chiming in on Talk. A special thank you to the Arizona Science Center for graciously hosting the evening, each of the participating vendors, and to the yelp community who attended!
Until next time, SYOY!
