It's Sweet to be a Manchester Elite!
For once, it wasn't a wet Wednesday in the North West! A crowd of cupcake fans hurried over to Manchester's financial district Spinningfields for an evening of frosting-based frolics at Hey Little Cupcake!, the city centre's premier cupcakery.
Yelpers were treated to a generous selection of miniature cupcakes from HLC proprietor Sarah Wilson's signature collection, including the ever-popular Red Velvet. As Bex T puts it, "The cakes were, as ever, light and fluffy and delicious. My favourite of the evening had to be the mini Red Velvet which had a gorgeous moist base and an almost mousse like frosting. We also got a chance to try HLC's brownies which had the perfect combo of crunchy topping and squidgy-widgy chocolatey base. Yuh-uhm! Oh what a night/ Oh what a cupcake/ What a night..."
Yep, home-made brownies and leftover Ozzy Delights were scarfed – oh yes, those are the ones with the Tim Tams on top, people. We'll just give you a moment to wipe the drool from your keyboard.
"What a splendid way to spend a Wednesday evening, drinking wine and eating cupcakes," marvelled Jessica X. "I shall be swinging by Hey Little Cupcake tomorrow morning and probably every time passing... the cupcakes really were truly delicious, I can't wait to try the black velvet."
Yelp Manchester favourites Oneglass Wine and Vitamin Water were on tap to quench sponge-induced thirsts, and not only did guests walk away with Yelp schwag but we even had a few purchases of HLC's own cupcake-themed goodies such as necklaces and tote bags!
Thanks once again to Sarah for her wonderful hospitality, and to Harrison Edwards for his nifty pics.
