Yelp Paris Elite Scream For Mary's Ice Cream (& Cake)

a dit que Saint Tropez était “the place to be” en août quand on peut
déguster les meilleures glaces du moment à Paris? Hier, dans une petite rue discrète du 3ème arrondissement, la Brigade d’Elite
parisienne a été accueillie en italien par la créatrice de
merveilleuses glaces artisanales: Mary, propriétaire charmante de la gelateria du même nom.
Dans
une ambiance gourmande et régressive, la cinquantaine d’invités s’est
fait chouchouter dans la boutique-bonbon, privatisée pour l’occasion.
David A s’est régalé dans cet “endroit rose et cool avec des italiens
et UNE italienne qui nous a gatés de ses délices glacés!”
Mary,
parée de rose comme à son habitude, avait préparé 6 glaces artisanales
et inédites: une sorbet pêche-champagne pétillant, un café onctueux, un
sorbet mangue, comme une invitation au voyage, un amaretto, une crème à
l’ancienne gourmande , et un chocolat intense à la fleur de sel. Mais
le clou de la soirée était incontestablement le parfum "Yelp". Une
alliance orientale de pistaches et de fleur d’oranger, exclusivement
élaborée pour la soirée, et qui a littéralement conquis l’ensemble des
invités, dont Thornaad C qui a “adoré la "Yelp Flavour", parmi mes deux
parfums préférés du monde de l'univers”.
Côté boissons, les invités ont pu choisir entre une sélection de 2 vins, un rosé pétillant et un blanc fruité et demi sec. Sous
le charme, les yelpeurs sont repartis heureux comme des enfants à qui
on vient d’offrir une glace... Alors qu’Omid T résume la soirée ainsi "Cool. Confortable. Sans prétention. Tout à fait mon truc”, Christine G
conclue “c’est encore une très jolie soirée Yelp qui s'est terminée
bien plus tard que prévu...”.

Who
needs St Tropez when the coolest place to be mid-August is in Paris
eating artisanal, handmade ice cream? Yesterday the Paris Yelp Elite
Squad were treated to an exclusive ice cream extravaganza at Mary’s
gelateria where they were greeted in Italian by the ice cream queen
whose eponymous shop has sparked a revolution on the Parisian sweet
scene.
The 50 special guests packed into Mary’s candy-colored wonderland of pink, violet and cream before spilling out onto the street with their sweets in hand. David A went gaga for the “cool, pink space and the Italian hostess who spoiled us silly with her frozen delights.”
Decked
out in her signature pink Mary served up five of her favorite flavors:
peach and champagne, her award-winning coffee, a sumptuous mango
sorbet, an amazing amaretto, a perfectly simple cream, and a rich
chocolate with Himalayan salt crystals. But the showstopper was by far
the new Yelp flavor that Mary concocted especially for the event. A
genius blend of orange flower water and pistachio, the combo knocked
the socks off everyone, including Thornaad C who said that “the Yelp
flavor combined two of my most favorite ingredients in the world.”
Who knew that Mary could bake too? In addition to her fabulous ice cream, Mary wowed guests with a selection of homemade cakes and pies, including an ice-cream filled pannetone, two fruit tarts, and a tiramisu “made with home made biscuits,” that blew Fabrice F to bits. To wash it all down, the Yelpers chose between an Alsatian white and a sparking rosé that paired perfectly with the desserts.
In their full-on sugar highs, guests buzzed on home to write about their evening. Omid T found it “Cool. Comfortable. No pretense. Totally my thing,” while the always hilarious Jessi B snarked, “Thanks Mary! Thanks a lot. My jeans don't fit me, AGAIN!”
