East Bay Gets Brunchtastic at Bocanova!

Since its opening in September, Jack London Square's newest hotspot, Bocanova, has wowed with its sustainable Pan-American fare and striking ambiance. This past weekend, Yelp Elites convened on a glorious Saturday afternoon to lend their tastebuds in determining which dishes will earn a spot on Bocanova's inaugural brunch menu!

Armed with Sangre Marias and "The Elite" - a potent concoction of gin, Aperol, champagne and OJ specially crafted for the occasion and whipped up by barkeep Brian with a flourish - guests sampled a parade of brunchtastic items. Diana Lyn M couldn't get enough of the cornmeal waffles with persimmon whipped cream, while the beef and yucca hash left Michelle W "razzle-dazzled with glee." Epicurean Bill B expanded his gastronomic repertoire with the menudo stew, exclaiming, "I've never been a tripe fan and thus didn't eat menudo, but theirs has converted me!"

Three cheers to the talented, industrious kitchen and staff for hosting a veritable feast! We'll be eagerly anticipating the brunch launch. Until then, whet your palates with the recounts here.
