We all know that yelpers are local experts, searching out everything from the most heavenly of hidden gems, the tastiest taco trucks, the freshest florists, to the most meticulous salon for waxing.  Now you can follow your favorite local expert in a photographic tour of their favorite businesses ... well maybe not the waxing ones.

Yelp's Big Fat Greek Party

The Yelp Elite Squad gathered for the Greekfest of the year last night. No, this wasn’t a sorority party, but Yelp’s Big Fat Greek Party at Venus.

Word has spread to San Francisco that Chicago yelpers know how to PARTY so Nish N flew in to meet some of us fun loving yelpers in person. The night started early for many yelpers such as Edward H and Lisa B who showed up early for a tasty Greek meal. For those yelpers who missed out on dinner there were plenty of delicious appetizers. Sign us up for more Pastitsio! And we can’t forget the love martinis, made with lots of yelp love by the oh so fabulous bartenders.

Yelpers making their first appearances at events included Shane H and Rocky B who went home with their snazzy Yelp Elite shirts. And as always it was fun to party with some old time yelpers, such as Dee W and Dave S.

Stan M was the man of the evening to make friends with because he won a gift certificate to Venus in the raffle. Which lucky yelper will Stan be taking as his date? Donna G was lucky as well because she won tickets to the Grand Dinner 2007, where they will soon be enjoying a 5 course dinner at the Union League Club. We assume she’ll be taking hubby Dan G, who we can always thank for capturing our smiling faces and drunken actions on camera.

A huge THANK YOU to Gina and the rest of the gang at Venus for hosting Yelp’s Big Fat Greek Party. We’ll be back for more fun (& baklava) soon!

Seattle's Yelp Elite Caught in a Bottleneck

The Bottleneck Lounge teamed up with the Seattle Yelp Elite Squad to shake up the normal Monday night routine. And whoohee - there was a lotta martini shaking going on. Cam, now known as "the best bartender ever", mixed up some of the best pear martinis any Seattleite has ever tasted.

We even brought in a few of Boston's elite yelpers for the party - it looks like Lindsay D and Felecia C might just be moving out of Beantown and into Seatown. David H finally brought his beautiful wife to an elite event, and Adam D (AKA Huzbeau) was in tow as well. Mel R, Terrell M and Sylvia L started a few rumors, and since I'm not one to gossip, you'll just have to go read about it in Talk. Rick M and Charlie D started causing a little trouble towards the end of the night (no they aren't the ones that lit the bread basket on fire) they were simply trying their hand at a little bathroom graffiti on the ultra cool chalk wall in the Bottleneck's bathroom.

But the night wasn't all fancy cocktails and permission vandalism. We also teamed up to collect donations for homeless pets at the Seattle Animal Shelter. The prize for largest bag of dog food schlepped to the event goes to...drum roll...Miss Mary Ann D, of course.

New York's Elite Squad left in Stitches!

Wednesday night some fine looking ladies and gents known as the New York Yelp Elite Squad spruced up good to take over the Fashion District at the sleek and sexy Stitch.  We sipped on a variety of delicious Hendricks Gin cocktails and some yummy munchies from the bar, but of course, the real treat was seeing the Yelp Elite Squad looking so hot...oh wait, that's every day.

There was quite the crowd this time around and many a first timer including queen of the Talk Boards Kristine R, Mike T with his entourage, the adorable Julia O, and our favorite Frenchie David S.  Even some Yelp veterans like Nina C made their first appearance, and of course, they all left with a hot Yelp Elite T-shirt in tow.  We also had a very special guest Julie C from SF - part of Yelp's faboo PR Team - making the rounds.

Yelpers Get Swelligant at MR.

While not everyone can roll with Danny Ocean, on March 8th the good folks at MR. helped some yelpers get one step closer to that George & Brad sheen.  More than just a new barbershop, the concept is part lounge, part social club, harkening back to the good old days, but with enough modern sophistication to style you straight out of the latest issue of GQ.

Owners Sean and Kumi mingled with the likes of  Tanya Z, Bucky K and Mia K, while other guests enjoyed complimentary Mas Sake sushi as well as drinks from MR's own lounge bar. Some lucky male yelpers including Andre H, Mike S and Chris M had quick hair shape-ups, while others were treated to expert shoe shines, both just a sample of MR's range of member services.

Indeed, Talk posts after the event reveal that both misters and misses enjoyed themselves quite a bit. Thanks to Mia for taking those snapshots!
